Instructor Selection Process
The selection of instructors plays an important role in our curriculum development, and consists of a vigorous multi-stage evaluation process.

Step One:Scientific Credentials
During this initial phase of evaluation, we take a look at the instructor’s educational background, publications and overall success as a peer-reviewed and established opinion leader in his or her given field. We interview colleagues, look at the quality of publications, and the longevity of their scientific work. This is a critical step in the selection process, and though numerous candidates are regularly selected and evaluated in tandem, only a select few make it to the next stage.
Step Two: Applied Experience
While having a strong scientific background is vital, the importance of applied industry experience cannot be overlooked. It is essential that science and application be linked in a substantial way. With that in mind, we look for instructors that have over 10 years of applied industry experience, either working directly in a relevant area for a Life Sciences company or within regulatory bodies such as the FDA, Health
Step Three: Teaching Experience & Adult Learning
The presence of knowledge does not automatically translate into learning; the ability to transfer this knowledge through teaching is what promotes this learning. Our goal is to ensure that the instructors we put in front you demonstrate and inspire. Does the instructor have any previous experience in an educational setting? Does the instructor have the skills necessary to keep the course interactive and engaging at all times? Can the instructor present the content in a manner that will be absorbed by all levels of personnel? These are merely a few of the elements we take into consideration prior to selecting an instructor. We also conduct regular reviews and training refreshers with our instructors, in order to maintain in a continuous process of quality improvement. Consistency in presentation methods, as well as thorough understanding of adult learning theory and techniques, are qualities we strive for in all BenAstrum instructors.
Step Four: Virtual Communication Skills
Traditional classroom settings provide instructors with real time feedback mechanisms to gauge the interest of their audience. If participants are bored, the yawns and tired expressions will be visible to the instructor, making it easier to adapt and revitalize the audience. In a virtual classroom, the instructor must rely on an entirely different set of creative and interactive tools to keep participants engaged. With that as the primary focus, our instructors go through an extensive virtual communications training where we present the methods and techniques they will require to promote interactivity throughout the course. Certain skills will translate, but even the best face-to-face teachers will require experience, training, and a strong understanding of the human psyche to excel in a virtual webinar setting.
